Meeting called to order at 7:05pm

Steering Committee –Tom Dalton and Jack Priest will be the official speakers for the groups.Connie reported some extremely important datesTom and Jack would like to see media releases prior to them being released

Connie – reported on the possibility of an assisted living facility. The Matthews assoc owns land at top of hillWould be feasible as a not for profit – 50 unit facility – meals provided, laundry, nurse/administratorTiming is key – encouraged by both SAH and the LHIN to proceed with studyDon’t wait for final study results -sent letters of intent to powers that be to get the ball rolling for fundingAssoc would provide land shovel ready – do curbs, water and sewer, etc.Peter Vaudry met with Connie (our rep on the LHIN)-SAH has to have their plan to LHIN by April 30-LHIN meeting in Sault – SAH will provide their complete recovery plan-Friday May 1 – public meeting-LHIN will only work with and meet with SAH Board and Matthews Board-LHIN was very impressed with their tour of Matthews facilities-Quote: We are not looking to close you down.-Jody questioned how we should be focusing our messages to the LHIN

Media:Ad in the Sentinel, smaller ad accidentally placed, larger ad going in for next weekAd going in Sault Star again, and ad for Soo Today.Next regular meeting of the SAH Board is April 8 – 5:30 at the Riverview Centre open to the publicHave spent approx. $2000 so far (including Soo Today)Will skip ads in Sault Star for 2 weekends and do a big finish later in April 30, 2009Cindy Crawford has offered to see if the Sault Star would re-run her articles on MMH history and backgroundStop Sault Star after this weekend and continue Sentinel and Soo TodayJody read a letter (news release) from the Steering Committee- releasing to radio, tv, newspapers, etc.

Printing of brochures – need to approach the municipalities about printing theseVery urgent!!!!! Anyone who can must get them printed ASAPDale will email the final copies out later tonight.

Volunteer schedules are a go for the next two weekendsWe have to be diplomatic at all eventsHollie’s blog is going very well – will be posting the minutes from all the committees.

Dale reported that more signs are done for Save Matthews as well as the Stand Up for rural health care.Next Meeting: Thurs. April 9 -- Joan will call the township to reserve the hall
